Dromintee 0-16 Sarsfields 2-10
The sides finished level in this encounter. Sarsfields led by three points midway through the first half thanks to an Eamon McGeown goal. Dromintee however pulled back to within a point at the break. The second half began in whirlwind fashion with five points in six minutes, but four of those were for the home side putting them ahead in the match. Dromintee in fact outscored Sarsfields by seven points to two in the opening ten minutes of the half. However a great point from Thomas McAlinden with ten minutes remaining seemed to inspire Sarsfields and a free from Richie brought the deficit to two points. In the closing stages Thomas McAlinden and Paul McGaughey combined in a quick move from a Darren McAvoy kick out. Richie Stevenson collected a great pass but was hauled down in the square. Johnny Reynolds' penalty put Sarsfields ahead for the first time since the first minute. However Dromintee equalised with the last kick of the ball from a free deep in injury time. On the face of it a draw away to Dromintee is not a bad result, though the team would have been disappointed to concede a very late point.
