Granemore 3-12 Sarsfields 2-08
Sarsfields were beaten away to Granemore and yet for a fair period of the game they might have reasonably believed they could get something from the game. Granemore had all the early play and assisted by the breeze led 1-04 to 0-01. Great work from Kieran McAlinden, brought the Highmoss back into the game when he bravely regained possession and set Eamon McGeown up for a goal. A second goal from Eoin Murray followed by a Johnny Reynolds point saw Sarsfields lead by a point at half time. In the second half Kieran McAlinden was unlucky not to score a goal, seeing his touch on a rebound go over the bar. Two Granemore goals gave them the confidence to push on for a win. For the home side the win was deserved mainly because they had the better forward line, both in terms of ability and work rate.
