Fun Run a Great Success

Thanks and well done to all who supported the Sarsfields 5k Fun Run today. There was a great mix of younger players and veterans out and there is no doubt that there a few talented younger runners in the country.
Caoimhin Robinson lead early on, but he was reeled in by the very experienced Barry Shanks who went on to win, but Caoimhin finished a very respectable second and was the first Highmoss player home. John O’Hagan and Conor Creaney fought out a battle for third place but again it was experience that won out with John taking third. Conor reckoned he wasn’t bothered about being beaten by somebody about forty years older than himself. Nola McAlinden was the first lady home and there were great underage performances from Mark McConville, Oisin Smyth and Oisin McAliskey. The fun run was about taking part and having fun and most runners (with a few exceptions) seem to enjoy themselves.
