Sarsfields 4-05 St. Patrick's 0-12
Yet again Sarsfields have beaten the league leaders. This match was somewhat similar to the Maghery match where the opposition built up a lead before the Highmoss got going. Mind you, I'm not sure I believe Weasel - 'that this is a tactic'. The visitors hit seven points before Sarsfields scored, but the Hoops first three scores were goals, from Paul Hughes, Paul McGaughey and a third from Kieran McAlinden in the first minute of the second half. The sides were level midway through the first half and again with less than five minutes remaining. The match was won in the final five minutes. First Darren McAvoy made a superb save that surely was the turning point, then Paul Hughes landed two super points in the last two minutes of normal time, the second coming after an excellent catch in the middle by Brian Lavery. Sarsfields then held possession to frustrate Cullyhanna, before Eimeid Murray was set up with a goal chance which he crashed to the net.
