Sarsfields 3-12 Clan na Gael 3-11
As the scoreline suggests it was a tense finish to this match, but it really shouldn't have been this close. Clans had the better start hitting two early goals but Sarsfields having the most of the play pushed ahead scoring 2-03 without reply. The goals came from Neil McCann and a Richie Stevenson penalty. Sarsfields finished the half with a decent 2-09 and a six point lead.
In the second half a Michael Stevenson goal had Sarsfields in an eight point lead. Sarsfields then pushed the self destruct button, missing scoring chances and giving away possession. Sarsfields led by six with five minutes remaining, but a Clans goal two minutes from time brought it back to two points. A final Clans point closed the gap but Sarsfields held out for a vital win in this relegation struggle.
