Sarsfields 2-08 Clan na Gael 1-09

What pressure?
Paul McGaughey set up Sarsfields' first goal from here

Clan na Gael threw away a seven point lead, ten minutes into the second half to lose by two in this derby match. Two Eamon McGeown goals kept Sarsfields in the match and his vital injury time point edged Sarsfields ahead for the first time in an hour. Just have a closer look at the photo on the left. Amazingly Paul McGaughey put the pass in from here that led to the first Sarsfields goal. Sarsfields had the worst possible start with a combination of errors leading to a Clans goal. The visitors hit 1-04 before Sarsfields registered a score. The Highmoss goal stopped the rot briefly, and Richie Stevenson hit over a free, but Clans hit three points to lead by six at the break.

Clans hit an early point on the restart but failed to add to that for over twenty minutes. The Highmoss breakthrough came with a second Eamon McGeown goal taking the gap down to three points. A superb sideline ball from Richie Stevenson followed by points from play from himself and his brother Colin levelled matters, but Clans edged ahead again. Richie Stevenson levelled the game and a super point from Eamon McGeown put Sarsfields into the lead on the hour. Johnny Reynolds added a point from a free to seal the win.
