Great Turnout at Tonight's Ceili

Sincere thanks to all who attended our ceili in the Sarsfields Hall last night (Saturday 14th) and to all who helped with the supper whether leaving in food or doing the dishes!
We were very fortunate to have an excellent group of musicians on stage, Cathal Mc Nulty and his band - they had travelled up from Warrenpoint and kept us all dancing till well past 12.30am. Seamus his banjo player can often be found over in the Hib hall on a Saturday night enjoying the session.... So no strangers to Derrytrasna !!
Ceili regulars were not put off by the heavy rain, some had travelled from North Tyrone and Donegal. Indeed it is great to be part of the Ceili community in the North, their loyalty friendship and support is always appreciated and treasured.
Another Ceili on in Derry last night meant our numbers were down slightly but still I am delighted to be able to contribute the proceeds to two locals for their work and support for very worthy causes - Declan Mc Alinden for his continued work with the Niall Mellon Trust and Jim O Hagan for his support for Dr Kapours leprosy clinic in Delhi India.
Thanks as always to Francie Lennon for opening up, doing the door and checking (several times) that the bread was edible .....
Thanks again for all supper contributions - it is fantastic that people are willing to help without question at short notice.
Unfortunately I didn't have my wingman Paula Mc Stay last night - busy off winning at the Irish Masters, plans must be underway for an extension for all those trophies!! And to all the hall committee - the use of the hall and such excellent facilities is always greatly appreciated.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh
Bernadette Lavery.
